VO2max or lactate
VO2max (maximal oxygen uptake) is accepted as the criterion
measure of cardiorespiratory fitness. PEAK uses open-circuit spirometry
to accuately measure VO2max. Athletes can use VO2max
testing information to determine training intensity and gauge results
of a training program. Following American College of Sports Medicine
(ACSM) guidelines, we cannot test men older than 45, women older than
55, or individuals with 2 or more risk factors As we do not have a
physician on staff. Please check our risk factor list prior to making an appointment.
